How many of you can remember the 80’s song by Hazel Dean, ‘Searching Looking for Love’ lyrics:
Searchin’ and seekin’
Never sleepin’
I’ve got to find me a man.
I want no disguises
Just surprises someone who I’ll understand.
I don’t need a guy who spends only one night
Then tell me he’s got no more time.
I’m looking for someone to share my life
I better move on down the line.
Searchin’ – looking for love all the time I can.
Searchin’ – looking for love I’ve got to find a man.
Some guys excite me but don’t invite me.
They don’t even notice
It seems
Oh
I’m always waiting
Anticipating.
I long for the man of my dreams.
He needn’t be handsome
Have fortune or fame
He just gotta be sweet and kind
But there’s so many wanting or needing the same
I gotta move on down the line.
Some of you might relate to the feelings this song engenders. This song tells a story of many of my lovely clients at Crystal Clear psychics. The stories are all uniquely different and special but they all have the same theme. Clients, from any gender who are searching for their soul mate, their ever-elusive twin soul.
Recently in the media there have been stories of those in the public eye struggling with their so-called soul mates only to have their lives torn apart by the public eye and their relationships undressed in public.
Some relationships head for disaster from the offset and some are like dewy eyed fantasies that live happily ever after, much to the envy of others.
How do we find the perfect relationship and the right partner? In today’s ever-changing society we are now more than ever relying on social media and the internet.
This means that people do not always meet their soul mate in the traditional way, either at a social event or down the pub. Busy lives lead to people joining dating agencies and paying regular monthly fees just to find that elusive twin soul.
Who is your soulmate?
Many years ago, when I was a psychology student, I spent an entire topic learning about this subject. The main findings were that like attracts like. Those who think similarly to us, who look equally as attractive as us, and live in the same area, are more likely to become our life partners or soul mates. And it is those kinds of people that are likely to remain in a relationship for a longer period of time, (Klohnen and Luo, 2005, Barelds and Dijkstra, 2008).
If a person is different to you – you either have to find common ground or complement each other or you’ll probably end up like the owl and the pussy cat that went to sea, never to return. The sea being a metaphor, meaning you’re in for a turbulent time.
So, look for someone who lives nearby, who is as attractive as you are and also shares the same interests and values. You will most likely find your soul mate deep within that kind of person’s psyche.
What is the best way to meet and choose your soul mate?
If you’re lucky you’ll get introduced or meet them at a social. However, the best way these days seems to be the internet. Here we must proceed with caution. If you join the internet you are faced with a wide pool of unknown potential soul mates.
So, if you’re going to find the one that’s right for you, click on those filter tabs and be selective about the location of the person, their age and background. Similarity to you in terms of interests and looks is often a really good way to start. Then when you communicate you can identify if you have similar values and thinking.
There will always be the odd person you spot and feel a sense of something special that you must not ignore or life would be plain boring. You never know.
What if I’ve been hurt in the past?
Most of us, if not all come with baggage so it is wise to recognise this. Know that you weren’t the same person as before. You’ve probably learnt so much more by now and would be aware of the warning signs. Move forward in strength; by that I mean move slowly into a relationship at the pace that you find comfortable. This way you can address any challenges that come along in a thoughtful, considered fashion. This is where we psychics at Crystal Clear come in. We are the perfect companions to help you negotiate the minefield of internet dating. Our insights will help you to identify who is your perfect match.
Good luck. Never give up. It is better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all (Alfred Lord Tennyson).
