Colour Healing
Colour is a profound tool for enhancing your health and well-being on physical, spiritual and emotional levels.
This is nothing new - colour has a long history of methodical and therapeutic use, and modern colour therapy represents the rediscovery of ancient principles! For the ancients, the colours that make up sunlight were each considered to show a different aspect of the divine, and to influence different qualities of life. The seven colours of the spectrum are said to resonate with the seven chakras.
Colour therapy uses this resonation to balance and stimulate the bodies energy centres and trigger the healing process. Contemporary colour therapists use full-spectrum lamps, fitted with special quartz filters, to produce colours of all wavelengths and frequencies. This can be really useful for people who spend much of their time exposed to artificial light. In terms of chronic illness, full-spectrum light is now being used in the treatment of cancers, seasonal affective disorder, eating disorders, insomnia, jet lag, shift-working, alcohol and drug dependency.
What colour are you?
Psychologists agree that colours have distinct personalities of their own. Blue is calm, red is passionate, yellow is inviting, and so on. What colour are you?Colour preference tests give useful information on how people will react to certain colours in given situations. Because the colour selections are guided in an unconscious manner, they reveal the person as he or she really is, and not as he or she perceives him - or herself, or as he, or she would like to be perceived, which occurs when questions are asked directly or by questionnaires.
Can colour enhance your appearance?
More and more beauty companies are offering colour analysis,` promising to enhance your personal image by tuning up your use of colour. By looking at aspects such as skin tone and body shape, as well as personality, lifestyle and budget, you are shown how to achieve a better, more expressive image. Your unique skin tone and eye colour means some colours make you look great whilst others have the opposite effect. Knowing and wearing your correct colours makes you look healthier, younger and fresher, giving you a renewed sense of excitement and confidence.
In a personal colour analysis, you will be asked about your lifestyle, clothing, make-up, and shopping habits. By looking at the way your skin tone, eye and hair colour work together, you'll learn how to wear the colours from your personal palette. You'll also learn accent colours to give your outfits the wow factor; make-up techniques that suit you naturally; colour combinations for work and play; and how to utilise the colours you already have.
